Friends of Bennetts End Surgery (FOBES)

FOBES is a Patient Participation Group (PPG) and is affiliated to the National Association for Patient Participation, set up in 1987.  All surgeries are required to have a PPG.

Over the years, effective partnership working between FOBES and the Practice has helped to identify new and improved services to highlight the needs of patients and carers.

The group is made up of patient representatives, and surgery staff, supporting the Practice by offering:

  • Practical assistance with tasks that will help the smooth running of the surgery
  • Flu clinics
  • Patient surveys
  • To meet to discuss patients’ experiences and to influence surgery plans for the future
  • Two-way feedback between patients and surgery staff

New Active Members Required

FOBES meet at regular intervals, usually quarterly, with volunteers and members of the surgery.  No training is needed to be a member of our PPG. The most important requirement is that you are keen and focused on taking constructive action to help the practice deliver the services its patients need.

We want to hear constructive feedback on the day-to-day running of the surgery to help improve and support patients.

  • Details of all meetings are forwarded to members in advance. We understand that not everyone can come into the surgery; however, if you are not able to join us at the meetings, you could join our “virtual group” and assist the group via email.
  • In order to ensure we represent as many patient groups as possible, we would like to increase the number of members within FOBES.

If you would like to get involved:

  • Please email: FOBES@hhas.org.uk
  • Complete the registration form by clicking the tile at the bottom of this page.

Latest News:

At our July meeting we looked at the summary in the below link, which shows the number of patients registered within the Practice currently, the number of appointments offered and the number of face-to-face appointments patients did not attend (DNA).

It shows that we, as patients, can help the Practice and fellow patients by cancelling appointments if we cannot make it, as other patients could have been offered these appointments.
