Men’s Health Week: Reducing risk of type 2 diabetes with healthy lifestyle changes

Posted on June 3rd, 2025

Living Well Taking Control is hosting a free webinar for patients on 10th June 2025 from 12:00-12:40 to raise awareness of the Link between Men’s Health & Diabetes Prevention during Men’s Health Week. They will go through why men are at higher risk of type 2 diabetes and practical steps that can be taken to protect your health. This is part of a series of free webinars about different aspects of health and preventing Type 2 Diabetes that they are hosting this year.

This session is designed for patients who are at risk of developing Type 2 diabetes or have been diagnosed with prediabetes but have not yet accessed the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme (NDPP). They are particularly keen to engage patients from deprived areas, ethnic minority backgrounds, younger demographics, and those with a history of gestational diabetes, as these groups are at higher risk.

Why is this important?

Early intervention can significantly reduce the likelihood of Type 2 diabetes and its complications, improving long-term health outcomes and reducing strain on healthcare services. Through this webinar, attendees will learn about:

  • Importance of early intervention
  • Modifiable risk factors
  • Practical lifestyle tips
  • Balanced nutrition & hydration
  • Moving more & sleeping well
  • Stress management
